We would also encourage you to get appropriate cowling so the birds no longer have access to the chimney.

Gas Fires: Some Gas fires will need disconnecting by a Gas Safe registered engineer before the flue can be swept. This is to be arranged by the customer at their own cost.)

All services are carried out in good faith; brief visual inspections are carried out of the appliance and chimney, but due to the concealed nature of chimneys and associated appliances, information should not be relied upon as a guarantee that the appliance and/or chimney are safe and/or free of faults or issues related to age, misuse, or poor installation.
We must assume unless otherwise told by the homeowner or the person allowing him/her entry into the property that the appliance is correctly and safely installed and is in a fit state to be swept.

FAULTS

Faults are often discovered as part of the sweeping process; for a chimney and items connected to the installation to be considered fit for use, it must be in such condition that it can be safely cleaned and tested. If damage is discovered during sweeping, this suggests an underlying fault which simply was exposed by the sweeping process.
Good examples of this include decayed and rotten liners, or birdguards where fittings have become rusted or loose and they dislodge during sweeping. Any faults discovered will be reported to the customer and appropriate documentation completed if necessary.

A CLEAN CHIMNEY IS A SAFE CHIMNEY
Maintaining and having your chimney swept is extremely important. A clean chimney means it will burn more efficiently, be better for the environment and safe to use.

If you fail to keep your chimney and appliances clean, it can lead to blockages resulting in deterioration of the flue liner, chimney fires or carbon monoxide poisoning.

No Mess, No Fuss!

The process typically takes around 1 hour depending on the type of appliance being swept.
You will be provided a NACS certificate of sweeping on completion for your records.
